Protect America’s Farms and Forests

A man wearing a hat walks through a farm field under a structure from which numerous hoses are hanging and spraying water on the crops below. The sun illuminates a ridge in the distance.

Farm Bill conservation programs are one of our country’s most important and successful investments in protecting nature and our natural resources. Their future, however, is in jeopardy.

That’s a problem. Why? Because these programs help farmers, ranchers and forest landowners be good stewards of the land, resulting in cleaner air and water, healthier food and thriving wildlife habitat. They also have a huge return on investment, creating thousands of jobs and injecting millions into rural economies. The loss of Farm Bill conservation programs would be a massive blow to the agricultural community and economy. It would also set us back in the fight to store carbon and keep climate change in check.

That’s why The Nature Conservancy is calling on Congress to support strong conservation programs in the next Farm Bill.

Add your name to tell Congress you’re counting on it to support vital conservation funding for America’s farmers, ranchers and forest landowners.

Support Conservation Programs in the Farm Bill

I stand in firm support of strong funding for vital conservation priorities in the Farm Bill. The Farm Bill is the nation’s largest investment in the voluntary and successful conservation, restoration and management of America’s private lands.

Conservation practices supported by the Farm Bill not only support farmers, ranchers and forest landowners. They also result in cleaner water, healthier soils, enhanced wildlife habitat, more outdoor recreation opportunities and increased flood control. Farm Bill conservation programs also have a large return on investment, creating thousands of jobs and injecting millions into rural economies.

I urge you to pass a new five-year Farm Bill that follows through on these important conservation investments and provides longer term certainty to agricultural producers.
