The Smiley Meadow Preserve Tour is a walking tour across the beautiful tallgrass prairie at our Smiley Meadow Preserve near Brookston, Texas.
The Nature Conservancy's Smiley Meadow Preserve is 1,050-acre preserve that contains one of the largest remnants of Silveus' dropseed prairie—a rare type of tallgrass prairie. This tallgrass prairie provides diverse offerings of grasses, wildflowers, and wildlife.
REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS: Registration is required.
VISITOR CAPACITY: Space is limited. Please register for event.
WHEN: Saturday, May 3, 2025. The tour will start at 9:00am and end around 12:00pm at our Smiley Meadow Preserve near Brookston, TX.
COST: This event is FREE.
Please note:
- Bring plenty of water and any snacks
- Bring binoculars and/or a camera, if you have them!
- Close-toed shoes, long pants, and hats are highly recommended
- Insect repellent and sunscreen recommended
- Cell service may be spotty on the preserve
- Tour is rain or shine!
- NO PETS
- Drones are not permitted
