Tell Congress: Don't Shortchange Extreme Weather Safety

As climate change gets worse, so do extreme weather disasters like severe storms, heat waves, wildfires and drought. Yet Congress is considering drastic cuts to federal agencies that will make us all more vulnerable to these catastrophes.

Agencies with critical conservation missions like the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the United States Forest Service are vital to predicting and managing against extreme weather threats. This is no time for them to be on the chopping block.

Send your message to Congress now and tell your elected leaders to oppose budget cuts that will endanger our communities and our natural world. Speak up for strong conservation and climate funding.

This message will be delivered to:

Your U.S. Senators

Your U.S. Representative

I urge you to preserve funding for conservation and climate and oppose cuts to programs that are critical to protecting communities and nature.

Congress must not make our communities more vulnerable to natural disasters, potentially costing taxpayers far more in emergency response and recovery. Cuts to agencies like the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Federal Emergency Management Agency and United States Forest Service endanger us all.

Federal funding for conservation and climate has a tremendous return on investment: more jobs, stronger economies, reduced disaster risk, cleaner air and water and outdoor recreation opportunities. Further cuts to this federal funding will only worsen our ability to respond to the challenges we're already seeing, including extreme weather events like severe flooding and wildfires.
