Act Now: Defend Minnesota’s Dedicated Funds for Nature

A child wearing a red, yellow, and dark grey cap hikes down a trail surrounded by ferns in the middle of a dense forest, as an adult wearing a backpack hikes on the trail ahead.

Minnesota’s dedicated conservation funds—the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund and the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment—have delivered state funding to protect, conserve, and enhance Minnesota’s lands and waters for decades.

But as legislators quickly approach a key procedural deadline, we need to make sure these funds advance through the legislative process. Your lawmakers need to know that voters like you want to see action that moves conservation forward.

Send a letter to your Minnesota legislators today to tell them it’s time to act for nature!

Act Now: Defend Minnesota’s Dedicated Funds for Nature

Dear Lawmakers,

For decades, Minnesota’s dedicated conservation funds have delivered taxpayer dollars to high-priority projects for nature. Between the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund and the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment, these dedicated funds have helped protect, conserve and enhance Minnesota’s lands and waters.

Voters like myself have overwhelmingly backed these funds over the years, including recently in 2024 when the extension of the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund and the creation of a Community Grants program won support from 77% of voters—a majority in every legislative district.

I urge you and your colleagues to take action to advance two important bills: HF3879/SF4304 (Outdoor Heritage Fund appropriations) and HF3426/SF3857 (ENRTF appropriations) with dedicated funding for nature.

Thank you for your service to the state of Minnesota during the 2026 legislative session.
