Join us at this year's final Cascade Head work party! After a moderate hike of 2 miles with 500 feet of elevation gain, we will work with hand tools (shovels, mattocks, loppers) to remove invasive blackberry plant roots in priority areas. Working on the site will involve maneuvering around with tools on some uneven and somewhat steep terrain. Some volunteers may help with the lighter duty tasks of cleaning off moss and dirt from the trail’s fiberglass footbridges.
The work will end around 2:45 p.m., and we will hike back down to the trailhead at Knight County Park. Starting at 3:30 p.m., we will hold a volunteer appreciation celebration at Knight Park with light snacks, pie and a raffle for gifts. All volunteers who helped at Cascade Head this year will be invited for the celebration.
