You can make a tax-free distribution from your IRA to The Nature Conservancy if you’re 70 1/2 or older. It’s a smart and efficient way to support the causes that matter to you most. To learn more or notify us of an incoming gift, complete the form on this page or visit our website.

You direct distributions in the amount of your choosing, up to an annual limit set by the IRA, from your traditional or Roth IRA to TNC (other types of retirement plans are not covered by the law).
The distributions go directly to TNC and are not subject to federal income tax.

Please note: If you are still working and contributing to a retirement account, this gift could impact your taxable income. Please consult a qualified advisor before making a gift. If you’re under the age of 70 1/2, you can use your IRA to support TNC’s work by making a withdrawal and donating the proceeds after taxes OR by designating TNC as a beneficiary of your retirement plan.

If you’re 73 or older, your gift may be used to satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD).
You may avoid the income tax penalty on your distributions.
You have the satisfaction of seeing your gift immediately support critical conservation work.

Contact your IRA custodian and ask them to send the check for a “qualified charitable distribution” to The Nature Conservancy to the attention of the Treasury IRA at the following address:
